This is a collaboration between Pro-Tech Knives and Mike “Whiskers” Allen.  This innovative Pro-Tech Whiskers collaboration knife based on Mike’s fantastic bolster release mechanism.  Upon first glance there is nothing about the BR-1 to make you suspect it’s an automatic knife (no button of course).  The BOLSTER section of the handle slides up – this very deliberate movement is what fires the blade open and also unlocks it from the open position.  With it’s handy 3.125” blade, smooth discreet action, and deep carry clip make this an excellent EDC knife.

This model BR-1.3 is 7-1/4″ in overall length with a 3-1/8″ drop-point blade of stonewash 154-CM stainless steel.  The fine edge blade is .11″ thick.  It has a 4-1/8″ handle made of 6061-T6 black aluminum. It is all smooth finished except for milled texture grooves on the operating end of the release scale.  The knife thickness is .45″ and weighs 3.1 ounces.  This is a right-hand, tip-up, scale release automatic folder with bead blasted hardware, a black pocket clip and a lanyard hole.
